Secret Blessings

Purpose: Our purpose is to anonymously help out those individuals who may find themselves in a time of need, by being able to provide them with a hand-up to meet the hurdles and/or challenges of everyday life.

About: My wife and I have been married for 28 years, as I write this. We have twin boys who just completed their Freshman Year at a Christian College. God has been good to us, but I must add that like many couples we also faced financial troubles some caused by the ailing economy and some due to self-infliction, but we witnessed Gods guidance when he led us thru these struggles and has brought us to a place to where we want to help others going thru similar circumstances.

While the boys were away at college, my wife and I became empty nesters, allowing us to refocus on what God had laid on our hearts nearly 2 years earlier. We were in church in Ft. Lauderdale, listening to all the different ways to get involved in the church’s various outreach programs and during this particular service God laid it on our hearts that we should pursue a way to assist other people facing a financial challenge or struggle by helping them in paying a Bill, Purchasing greatly needed groceries or money to purchase medicine, medical supplies, clothing, baby items or other similar needs. I think we are all aware of the various ways to donate and help out others during the Holidays but realize that the needs exist year round.

 

I once heard it said that “hunger doesn’t stop just at Thanksgiving or Christmas”. So we see a need to extend this opportunity to year round. While our church offers many outreach programs, we were inspired to want to help out others as well, but in an Anonymous way.

In reading God’s Word about giving we find in Matthew 6:6
1 “ Be careful not to do your “acts of righteousness” before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven.” 2 So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. So that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”Thus, this is how the name “Secret Blessings” was laid on our hearts and SecretBlessings.org was formed.

By donating to our cause you will be donating to what God has laid on our hearts, But YOUR generosity will bring God delight. Non-Believers will be given a chance to see Gods work and love for them- But the needs of other believers will be met when we freely give.

As we embark on this journey we realize that by establishing a non-profit organization, that we can help many people thru the generosity of others. We would ask that you pray for Gods guidance and for Gods wisdom to lead us forward and witness God's mighty works.
